A research centre to further digital ID aims has been opened in Angers, joining start-ups, researchers, industry leaders, and academics together to explore competitive use cases. With strong regulatory requirements surrounding digital ID, these main players will be able to innovate, train and test digital identity models as part of the European project.

The ID Centre, which was inaugurated on January 23, will become a hub of expertise with key stakeholders who have worked on large-scale digital ID deployments.

The key partners that took part in the launch included Agence France Titres, an operator of the Ministry of the Interior, Angers Loire Métropole and the French Tech Mission. The EUDI Wallet and eIDAS regulation provides a background to discussions aligning interoperability and cross-border interactions.
