A network of 343 savings banks, forming Sparkasse, have collaborated on a wallet-based age verification service in partnership with Google.
Google teamed up with Sparkasse as their first national credential partner for EU age assurance.
With parents and regulators welcoming a long-awaited age check standard, Google’s Credential Manager API fits the brief, backed by Google Wallet and zero-knowledge proof cryptography, which allows users to prove they are over 18 without having to disclose any additional personal data.
Sites can leverage the Credential Manager to “call” a visitor’s credential holder and securely transfer necessary age information.
The solution that issues users with a trusted credential to verify their identity, and provides one-click age assurance for apps and sites, will integrate directly with Android and Chrome.
