Authenticating the person, and not just the identity, biometric authorisation will be a free service offered for the first time for RBC Royal Banks’ Caribbean App for a faster sign-in experience.
Biometric authentication is only available in RBC Mobile Banking apps as of right now, with most modern mobile and smart devices providing the compatible hardware to support the technology.
Supporting facial and fingerprint recognition, RBC will adopt enhancing security features in place of passwords and more convenience for their customers when authenticating from anywhere on a mobile device.
The authentication method will be available from June 8, 2024 on a phased basis over the following weeks.
