The GOV.UK Register of Digital Identity and Attribute Services has introduced a series of significant improvements designed to make it easier for users to navigate the growing landscape of trusted digital verification services. Developed as a digital service and continually refined in line with the government’s Service Standard, the register has been reshaped following extensive user research, resulting in a clearer structure, improved navigation, and more flexible ways to access information.
One of the most noticeable changes is the ability to browse the register either by identity services or by providers that align with the DIAF standards. When the register first launched, users could only explore it through a list of providers. Now, a new services view offers more detail at first glance.
To help users find what they need more quickly, the register now offers expanded sorting and filtering tools. Information can be sorted by the most recently updated entries, alphabetical order, the date a service was certified, or the date its certificate is set to expire. Filtering options have also grown beyond role types and supplementary codes to include trust framework versions, giving users more ways to refine their search.
Searching has become more intuitive as well, thanks to an improved keyword search that delivers accurate results even when only part of a name is entered.
Recognising that some users prefer to access data offline or integrate it into their own systems, the team behind the register has also introduced the option to download the full register in CSV format. This open data format makes it easier to work with the information and represents an early step toward making the register more accessible in machine-readable forms.
Finally, a new updates page has been launched to help users stay informed about changes to the register. This page provides a simple way to track newly published services and updates to existing ones, offering greater transparency and reducing the need for repeated manual checks.
