Liveness detection vendors are being called upon to submit their solutions for testing conducted by the Department of Homeland Security’s research arm.

These days, fraudulent alterations to images and ‘selfie-style’ videos can have different classifications. They can be deepfake or morphing frauds.

The official benchmark test regulates the marketplace of technologies used to fight fraudulent documents. It is taking applications from developers to test liveness detection technologies that verify genuine “selfies” or facial recognition attempts. The partners of the test include The Transportation Security administration, Homeland Security Investigations Forensic Laboratory and National Institute of Standards and Technology.
