FacePhi, a company specialised in multi-factor biometric solutions, has obtained ISO 30107 certification after its liveness test and facial biometric identity verification technology has overcome all the attacks required by this standard, the most demanding one currently existing in the industry. This standard establishes, through the consensus of experts from around the world, the different types of attacks to which a biometric system can be exposed, and the way in which they must be reproduced and evaluated. ISO 30107 therefore consists of a set of guidelines, the purpose of which is to submit a biometric technology to the most effective attacks possible to break its security measures, in order to assess to what extent it is reliable before phishing attempts.To evaluate FacePhi's technology, the certifying body iBeta Quality Assuarance was used. iBeta is an organization based in Denver, Colorado (USA), with more than 20 years of experience in the analysis of quality and security of critical software services. In addition to its audit and certification services in different fields and platforms, it has the only laboratory in the world accredited for the evaluation of biometric systems by the National Institute of Standards and Techonology (NIST). Thus, to complete the security analysis of FacePhi's facial recognition technology, iBeta has carried out a complete metric audit and certification process for this biometric solution that has lasted several months. This analysis has culminated in the company obtaining the certification letter, which certifies compliance with the ISO 30107 standard.The certification letter states that FacePhi technology has passed all the tests it has undergone, both for its liveness test and for its biometric identity verification system, with 0% of successful attacks (IAPMR = 0% and FMR = 0%). From this, it is concluded that FacePhi's algorithms have been invulnerable to attacks throughout the certification process.As stressed by the Director of the Quality Department, Jorge FÉlix Iglesias, “facial recognition is reaffirmed as the most valuable biometric tool to ensure the comfort and security of users in any area where they need to validate their identity.” “The way it is used avoids any contact and is simple and intuitive.
