Victoria has become the second Australian state to consider offering citizens a drivers licence smartphone app alongside the physical document.The local driving agency, VicRoads, will analyse technology that produces digital licences in the next few months, News Corp Australia reported.The move comes after New South Wales announced last year that it was mulling digital drivers licence as part of a general shift to mobile identity credentials.NSW, which became the first state to make some licences digital, expects its motorists to have their driver's licences on their smartphones within three years.VicRoads registration and licensing acting executive director Glen Madeira told News Corp Australia it was working with providers to "develop and leverage" the best technology."VicRoads is aware of technology being developed which enables digital driver's licences," he said.
